Recently I visited New York City for a family gathering and the country's celebration of independence. Usually, I stay in the busiest communities of NYC, however, this time my cousin implored me to stay with her in Williamsburg Brooklyn, She insisted that it was a quiet, safe community that would remind me of home. I thought to myself; home? Why travel and stay somewhere that would have familiar surroundings? Nonetheless, I agreed and off to Williamsburg I went.
Upon arrival I was immediately intrigued by the lifestyle and fashion of the community. The Jewish people of Williamsburg stick together and stay true to their religion and culture. They are unaffected by the Zeitgeist, not in the slightest bit. It felt like I was in a literal time-warp. All of a sudden I felt like I was living in history. Even though I am not Jewish, something about Williamsburg felt so nostalgic to me.
I fell in love and immediately began snapping pictures of a quiet community unaffected by change.
I present to you, Williamsburg.
